Real Work Background

About Us

Bal Vikas Dhara (BVD) is a dedicated non-profit organization working to uplift marginalized communities, protect child rights, and drive sustainable development. Established in 1993, BVD has been actively engaged in empowering unorganized sector workers, including waste pickers, daily wage laborers, women, youth, and children living in vulnerable conditions.

At BVD, we envision an inclusive society where every individual, regardless of their socio-economic background, has access to education, healthcare, and opportunities for economic self-reliance. Our mission is to empower communities by addressing the root causes of rights denial, fostering collective action, and advocating for just governance that prioritizes the needs of the marginalized.

Our Operations

With operations spanning Delhi, Bihar, and parts of Rajasthan and Haryana, BVD collaborates with national and international organizations, government agencies, and civil society groups to implement impactful programs. Our holistic approach integrates community engagement, policy advocacy, skill development, and sustainable livelihood initiatives to bring about lasting change.

Key Focus Areas

Our Child Welfare initiatives focus on rescuing children from hazardous labor, rehabilitating them through education and care, and preventing child marriages. In Education, we run non-formal learning centers, remedial classes, and library services while ensuring formal school admissions and follow-ups for underprivileged children.

Our Healthcare Services include daily OPD consultations, health camps, counselling, and nutritional support. In Waste Management, we empower waste pickers through training, capacity building, entrepreneurial support, and linkages to social protection schemes.

Women and Youth Empowerment remains a key focus, with programs on skill development, financial literacy, SHG formation, and employment support. Additionally, we provide Support & Relief Initiatives, including emergency aid during crises, assistance to informal workers, and healthcare programs in collaboration with DSACS.

Our Approach

BVD's approach is community-driven and impact-oriented. By integrating advocacy, capacity building, and grassroots action, we continue to transform lives, ensuring that every child, woman, and worker receives the dignity, protection, and opportunities they deserve.

Through these integrated efforts, BVD continues to uplift marginalized communities and advocate for sustainable social change.
